Our Hunts

All of our hunts are over water from one of our several boat blinds. We also utilize shore blinds and final approach eliminators in some of our hunt areas. We pride ourselves at being very mobile and able to move to where the birds are.

Our hunts are conducted out of a 17-foot TDB custom duck boat with a full blind. In a matter of minutes the boat can be made to look like a big rock or a brush patch. This boat allows us to hunt many areas other hunters dream about hunting. We also have an 18 foot jet boat that can get you into the “skinny” water areas the birds like to loaf in. Both boats are equipped with the latest survival gear and Class 1 life jackets for hunters to wear.

We are the only outfitter in the area that offers hunts for specific species of Diver ducks. We hunt the larger lakes and rivers for Blue Bills, (Greater and Lesser Scaup,) Redheads, Canvasback, Goldeneye, Ringneck, Common Merganser and Hooded Merganser. We can also target large flocks of Widgeon, Mallards, and Gadwall in these areas.

Hunters who are mobility impaired are welcome to hunt both waterfowl and turkeys with us, several of the blinds we use are wheel chair accessible, also the blind boat is set up to accommodate hunters who are wheel chair bound. Our turkey hunts work very well for hunters who are unable to walk in the woods. Most all of our turkey hunts are done out of ground blinds that are accessible by vehicle and large enough to accommodate chairs.

Diver Hunts - Our Specialty!

Our Diver hunts are conducted in the fashion of the Great Lakes and East Coast with decoys set on long lines from the boat. Most all of our Diver decoys are hand painted to help bring the birds into close range. An average spread will consist of up to 120 decoys. We also have a true layout style boat from Waterfowl Works. The UFO layout is a great way to hunt Divers “up close and personal” many shots are taken at 15 yards and less!

Goose Hunts

We do not specifically guide for geese, but we do take a fair number of them while hunting ducks. Goose hunting days are Wednesdays and weekends, with several holidays and extra goose days during the season. If we are scouting for ducks and there are geese in the area, we can set up to try and take both if the client wishes to.

Best Times to Hunt

Our waterfowl season opens mid-October and runs, most years, to the last Sunday in January. If your wanting to get some trophy quality birds, mid-November to the end of the season are the best times. Most years we start seeing the majority of the ducks moving down from the north the first week of November.
